Parrots
Conure
I recently got a green cheek conure at the end of June. He was born 4/3/24. I also have a cat and 2 dogs. I recently found a flea on my cat. While I treated him, my concern is that some have gotten into the carpet. I was wondering if anyone has any info on the carpet spray from Skouts Honor. The company claims to be all natural, and pet safe. But I know that often means dog and cat, and not necessarily birds. I will say, I've already used salt and baking soda, and vacuumed the carpet. I also plan on vacuuming every day for the next few weeks. I also live in a house that has a very open floor plan. The living room goes into the kitchen, which goes into the smaller living room type space, so moving everything, cage included, to be closed off isn't an option. The cage does not fit through the inside doors. At all.

Thank you for any help!!!

I dont know, personall, but I saved ths from a while back...

When choosing a flea treatment for a parrot, you can consider sprays, spot-on treatments, and powders:

  • Sprays
KG Pet Spray for Birds can be used on birds, chickens, and in your home to kill fleas, ticks, lice, and other pests. It can be sprayed on your bird and its cage, as well as in your home, and can help relieve itching. You can also try a pyrethrin spray, which can treat fleas, ticks, and lice.
  • Treatment with a pyrethrin spray is usually enough to treat ticks, fleas, and lice. It is best to speak to your avian vet about what product to use. Mites may require different treatment regimes, and your avian vet is the best person to discuss this with.Jul 17, 2023

Thank you for replying!!! I bought bottles of the KG spray to try. I can't use pyrethrin in the house, as it's toxic to cats. I will say I only found 2 more, and they were dead on the cat, so I'm thinking the flea treatment for the cat worked. But i have had a bad experience when I worked at a hotel during the night shift, and they got infested. I looked like I had chicken pox.
