Does anyone really use these things. They seem like a great Idea but do they really work. Does your bird really like it? They seem so hard to put on.

What are your thoughts on them? I would love to take my little guy outside but it all seems too scary. To much can go wrong.

We use aviator harnesses... have them in every bird size from the green cheeks up to my macaw!!

Always, always, always check the harness and connections before putting it on and when you're out and about. My bare eye too did chew thru the bunge cord part of the lead. Thankfully I saw her chewing on it, so even tho she had made it thru, she was more interested in shredding it then actually getting away, but like everything, safety check!!

Never had a problem with my macaw, he goes out on quite a few outings, even went on vacation with us to the Outer Banks and went beach combing for shells with us (tho he was not interested in walking on the beach, that apparently was beneath him, mom had to carry him, but he enjoys being out).

I have a flight suit. I have not used it. it is too small for the bird I bought it for.
I think it would work for one of my smaller zon's but I can't handle her well enough to put it on her.

PS
I did have some success with the aviator harness.
