I have a 11 week IRN who was the sweetest baby ever until about 1-1/2 weeks ago when he realized flying is fun! I’m glad he’s enjoying it and let him loose while attended. Trouble is he no longer is interested in coming back to me. He went from cuddly baby to ā€œI’m independentā€ within an hour. I try to lure him in with treats and he’s still eating formula for comfort so he will come for that. Otherwise I end up chasing him around to get him back in the cage. I’m nervous he will become scared and won’t come to me. Any tips on how to get him back in the cage or back to me without scaring him? He also figured out how to get out of the cage today so I came home today to things knocked off the counter and things chewed up and thrown around 🤣 looked like a bear came through . Thinking of using some kind of clips to keep the sliding doors closed. What would you guys recommend? I’ve had parrots and birds growing up as well as an irn in the past, but this guy is definitely the most handful already!

There may be something of use in this thread Tips on bonding and building trust Towards the end of the first post there is a portion on recall training.

Alternately google parrot recall training. It's what I would look at doing for a flighty bird.
