So Pancho has figured out how to remove his food and water dishes from their holders. Now I can't keep food and water in his cage. It's like a game for him! Any recommendations for macaw proof bowls? Or ways to stop this behavior? Thanks y'all!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Can you take some pics of the bowls and placement...I've actually come across this before but it depends on the setup.

You can always go to super heavy ceramic bowls that sit on the ground, table, top of cage, etc. Or stainless steel bowls with a stainless steel threaded rod on the bottom that can be affixed to top of the cage and bolted into place.

Once you provide your current arrangement, my good friend above likely has a more precise solution.

Sorry, we had some surprise medical issues with my husband mother pop up. Trying to find a fix kinda got pushed to the wayside. But everything is smoothed out now...so back to trying to out-smart my bird ๐Ÿ˜‚ Smart little fella has learned how to unscrew the threaded ones from his play perch already. About to post pics of current setup. Thank y'all!!

This is the one on his play perch. He can unscrew and drop them in under a minute. These don't bother me though. I just put very little treats and water in these, because when he's out he's constantly monitored so I know he won't go without. But when he's in his cage, I wanna be able to fill those up.

On the perch, yes. The cage has holders that the bowls seat into.
He's figured both out ๐Ÿ˜‚ And this bird isn't even a year old...I'm gonna have my hands full!!! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
And remember that he can process at a rate three times faster that we can, which means, by the time we think of it, he has moved on to something else.

That will assure that your hands will be full!!

Well, I JB Welded some nickels to the side of his bowl. Now it has to be turned a specific way to put in or out. So far, so good! ๐Ÿ˜‚
