My neighbor brought over a Fischer's Lovebird they found. I have a Parrotlet named Peewee. So they figured I'd have a cage, food etc. They had it confined in a trashcan without food or water. The bird is beautiful in color unable to tell if male or female. Picked up great food from our vet and a new cage and it started eating and drinking right away. Once it was done eating it started acting irrational. Trying to squeeze its head through the bars, trying its hardest to get out then started throwing all the food on the floor. Was peeping alot and seemed normal throughout the night. But this morning, its on the ground and won't interact with me. He has no discharge from eyes or beak. Coloring and feathers are all in great shape. Though his poop was minimal I wasnt sure when it last ate. I am trying to find the owner though there is no band on him I have posted on CL and looked on other websites for Parrots to see if I can find owner. I cant afford a vet bill but I dont want it to suffer either. Any suggestions?
He may have just gotten to you too late. If I were you, I would leave the ads up for a bit, just so whoever lost him can find closure for their missing baby.
