when we first moved to our new home like ten years ago I was delighted to find a huge dog run in the back. I cleaned it up and covered it and made it into an aviary..(My cockatoo ended up getting zinc poisoning from it and nearly dying so it wasn't really that great of a find, careful with old metal!)
Anyways some old guys came over to meet my dad and he said to them, "Hey guys, when we moved here we found these weird animals in the yard and we didn't know what to do with them so we put them back here.. maybe you know what they are?"
He then brought them in the back behind the house to see my macaw, amazon and 2 cockatoos playing in the aviary. The men looked at them and then, not wanting to seem ignorant to the dumb Jersey folks, I guess, immediatly said, "Oh yah those kinds of birds are all around here, we see 'em all the time." They were serious! This was Pennsylvania, by the way, not exactly the rain forest..
Lol. I laughed my butt off when they left. Then I hollered at my dad for showing my babies to complete strangers.
