Ghana Grey

Who knows anything about these greys, i saw a poster today and couldnt figure out the difference between the Congo and Ghana grey? Are they also kept as pets like the Timneh and Congo? Has anyone seen a Albino Grey before??

wait wait it just came to mind. Isn't Ghana in africa? so maybe its just another name for an african grey.

Albino Grey

All genetic material has the ability to/possibility of mutation -- and an Albino mutation is very common (in the ways of mutations) have I ever seen one, NO - do I think that they could be out there - SURE!

Yes, Congo and Ghana is in africa, but they are 2 different greys from 2 different places. I have googled both the ghana and albino and have not found one of these species pics or breeders or as kept as pets. I did however take a pic of all of them at a petshop. Not a great shot, had to do it before the owners saw me, lol!

And heres the albino, i know its like a mutation kinda thing, but why is there no record of someone having it as a pet or trying to breed these mutations?

So many people say that the Ghana doesn't exist anymore, but I have to disagree with them. Kito is a Ghana of that I'm sure, He is so much smaller than Bucc, (yes I know there is an age difference between them) but everything about him is different.

I've never seen an Albino Grey, but somewhere here there is a picture of a Grey with a white tail. If not I believe I still have it somewhere I'll have to have a look and get it posted.

I've also told Andi that as I have a Congo & Ghana I really should have a Timmy and a cameroon. (Don't think he's convinced on that one.)

How does the cameroon look like? Is it those that people call maroon tails?

The Cameroons tail is just lot more Red than the Congo. But think when you have the two together is hard to tell the difference, and they're more Silvery

The one with the white tail is one that I had saved. The red factors, omg they are beautiful. I saw a couple of babies today who also had the red factor, boy was I ever tempted Very nearly brought one home with me, think Andi would have had heart failure.

Are they more expensive than the normal greys?

No they're the same price, when they are younger, they may lose the Red factor during the first molt, but some of them keep the feathers for ever. They are truly awesome. I know a lot of people don't like the Red Factor, but I think they are beautiful, but hey I just love Greys any Greys.
