Gilbert Oliver, Blue Crown Conure; Georgie, Sun Conure (2/8/01-8/8/12) RIP little girl; Percy, budgie 1993-1999. RIP Pepito-spanish timbrado canary
He suddenly started to say "Go Poop!" I say this every time i open the cage to take him out. The other day, he wouldn't go poop, so i just stood there holding him over his paper, repeating "go poop" and he would stand on my finger and say it back, LOL. He knows to say it when i reach in, but doesn't always know to do it. hahaha.
Anyhow, something about it cracks me up.

:D That is just TOO funny!!! You ought try and get it on tape, I'd love to hear it....we all need a good giggle. :D

I'll see if he gets chatty when i have the camera at the ready! He does have some new hilarious things he says and does but he stops and pops his head my way if he sees me paying too much attention with the camera.

Gilbert sounds like such a character. Hopefully you will be able capture him on camera. I'd love to see his antics. And maybe show him to Rosco to let him know that there are other noises he can make besides mocking me whenever I sneeze.

I tried to get a video with my phone this morning. He says it when he finishes but quietly and mumbling. But that is him saying "go poop". [ame="http://youtu.be/2lkFJNiT_38"]Gilbert's potty training - YouTube[/ame]

Unfortunately, my CAG picked that one up a long time ago.

He uses it when he is mad at me to try and get the other birds to go poop on me!

And then he does his poofy bird dance, and tells me I "gotta clean up the poopy mess!"

 His idea of a birdie practical joke!

Lol birdman! I swear Gilbert does it when pooping (like doing it last night as he pooped on the sofa). I want to say "um, that wasn't the point, to announce it and then fly away!"

Bahahaha!!!!! I heard it!! Lol so cute!

I'm surprised chili hasn't picked up any poop related phrases...I usually ask the kid "are you poopie?" "did you poop yourself?" "ugh!!! You stink!!" "let's change your butt"

UPDATE--Apparently his learning to say the word did correspond with his learning the what the word means. He has had very few accidents in the past two days. Last night I said "go poop" before he came out to play and he did it. After he was out with me quite a while, we were on the sofa watching tv, he said "Go Poop" a few times, and i said "go home" and he flew to his cage, i said "go poop" and he did it, and he flew back, seeming proud of himself. :) I think potty training is really sinking in now.

They are certainly smart enough to learn it. Tootsie is potty trained though I never really had to train her that I recall. She just knew that if she had to go then she would get antsy cause she knew I would not like it to get a big "plop" on my chest. Most of the time I would see that and get her to step up and hold her off to the side of my chair where I had some papers. If I didn't notice, she would suddenly fly off back to her cage or playpen perch and go. I never really tagged it with the words "Go poop" until much later. And she picked that up pretty quick. She does not talk so I never heard her say it back to me.

Well Gilbert is a great little guy but he is a messy thing! He did not care one but where he pooped or on whom and if playing would even ROLL in it and have it smeared on himself. He is such a slob that training was in order! Haha. My Georgie was neat by nature too!

NAAAAWWWW!!! That is THE cutest and sweetest thing I've heard in a LONG time!!!

WAY to go, Gilbert!!!! You are SUCH a sweetie!!!! :D :D

Gilbert is a star, way to go, Gil!

I hope I can get my galah potty trained. We're working on it.

He uses it when he is mad at me to try and get the other birds to go poop on me!

Now, THAT is funny :D I didn't realize how clever birds were.

Casper is the same way, he will actually say the exact same thing 'Go Poop' haha. Gotta love em!
