Goat Kids, prayers and good thoughts requested

I held my buck back this breeding season so it wouldn't be a repeat of last year (shoveling a path to the goat barn multiple times a night with the wind howling and having to bring EVERY kid into our living room due to the -50F windchill) This year my goats aren't due until end of March. My friend didn't think the weather would be a problem:20: Right! lol he's planning on waiting next year too now!:54::D

When I am feeling down I go to YouTube and look up vids of pygmy goats playing and jumping around and my mood instantly improves. :jumping40

If I was younger and didn't suffer so badly with allergies and asthma a herd of pygmy goats would happen!

I really wish I could find a farm that had them close by so that I could volunteer to play with the kids once in a while!

Too bad you aren't closer or you could come over and play with the babies, I'd even let you help out with the feedings! Hmm, how about the 1am one?:54:

Awww, they are adorable!!! I am so happy they are doing so well:)
Are you keeping them?

Good question! I've been trying to switch over to Nubians, keeping my does and saving back or buying an unrelated Nubian buck each year. These 2 are Alpines so.......... Probably will keep the doeling because her Mom is an awesome milker, the buckling will probably be sold once he is weaned. Everyone who knows me though knows that where animals are concerned my plans are pretty flexible so it's entirely possible that I may just end up with more goats:D

OMG....LOOKIE HOW SWEEEET THEY ARE!! :jumping40. I WANNA MUSH RIGHT IN WITH THEM WITTLE GUYS!!

I rarely go to bed before 1am so I would totally be up for that if we lived closer!:p

Named the buckling Bentley! Now need a girl name....

Uh oh, you named him, you know what that means, right?
:):):)

So cute! It reminds me of growing up when there was a good chance that there would be at least a few bottle lambs in tha bath tub any given spring at my uncle's house. Keep us updated! I agree Mercedes is a perfect name for the girl now that the boy is named!

OMG!! They're so cute!!! Bentley is a great name- I like Laura's suggestion of Mercedes for the girl lol

The Nubian kids were over the other day, so I had my goat fix -I showed them the gravel pile--oh man lol they had so much fun climbing up and head butting each other [emoji23]

They are doing great! Sturdy on their feet, hungry and making their presence known!:D Bentley will have horns ( I can feel the little horn buds already) but the doeling (still not sure on a name for her) is going to be polled! Cool! I've never had a polled goat before.

AWWW cute!! I claim the little white and black one! Haha

That's Bentley :) He's a little cutie, they're all curled up in front of the hearth now waiting for their feeding at 9

Aww Bentley. .. what a cute name!!!!!

Oh my goodness what a pretty baby! I'm so glad they are doing well. I grew up outside city limits and we had goats and pigs and a horse and geese...etc... I loved it! I miss living there. :)
