Does anyone know any good books about amazons? I like having hard copies on info, I often find info on the internet tends to be spread out and have trouble keeping up with all the websites.

Im more or less just looking for a good starter book, to at least give me the basics. Ill still scour the web, and definitely keep coming here, for more info.

I went to the pet store today and found myself at a loss as to what to get, and they had no books at all on Amazons.:green1:

I have a great book on amazons, it covers all types of them.
Title: The Birdkeepers' Guides
Auther: Greg glendell.
it covers so many things about having an amazon:
-how they live in the wils
-How to teach them some basic tricks
-amazon biology
-how they fly
-caging/housing
-feeding your amazon
common behavioral problems
-health care
-what to do if your bird escapes
-real questions asked by parrot owners.
hope this helps :)

Have you gone to the library? At my library they have a book called "amazon parrots", it's short and pretty basic though.

One amazon book is "the parrot who owns me". It's a novel written by a women who had a amazon parrot, it's just interesting read more then educational though.

Thank you both!

Im about to run to the bookstore to check those out. We have a couple libraries here, one we go to every Mon and Wed when Im done with classes. Ill check them out too, I know they have a ton of books about birds, I pass by them all the time.

Have you ever visited Howard Voren's website? voren.com you'll learn a lot there.
