Well females are larger than males in almost all species of raptor. I'm not sure but I think there is one member of the kite family where that may differ..... Not sure!!
I think the Japanese often own them as pets. I saw some Japanese videos on youtube with pet owls. I was shocked. I even saw one get on his back to be cuddled and scratched.
I know bird of prey very well, it's definitely a Eurasian eagle owl(European owl). Like most raptors, the females are approximately 1/3 larger than males. They're amazing birds, one of the largest owls.
