I thought this was funny to share.

Pritti's been staying with his grand-parronts a few miles away, and grandmum's been giving 4 - 6 oz (112-168gm) of foods 3 times a day plus snacks :11:. Then she calls to say -- I think something is wrong, he's not eating. Hahahahaaaaa. No matter how many times I showed her what a normal amount is, she still loads the dishes. Sometimes she says, 'oh he loved what I gave him - he ate it all. Of course, I knew it isn't possible and find it under the grating or flung far away from the dish. He can still get over on poor grandmum.

Lol so cute. It's nice to see non bird people fall for a parrot. That's really sweet of your mom. I don't think my mom will ever be that doting to Boomer, not even a fraction lol.

My mom used to think I was crazy when I would talk about Pritti as a sentient, intelligent bird with needs like a puppy or toddler. Now, she is so head over heels for him, she spends hours and hours with him at a time every day. Bringing her friends in to meet him, baby talking with him, bringing him in tons of play things. It's soooooo funnnnnny.

She left today for a trip and of all her mother's day cards on the counter, she took the one that Pritti sent to her, loaded with photos of him. Not the cards from her kids, but from her grand-bird only. Hahahahaaaaaaa.

LoL.....That's too funny!!!!!! My grandma used to spoil Cracker the Quaker when she used to watch him. She was NOT a bird person but she LOVES Cracker!!!!

That is so great, I wish my mom loved my birds but .....My bf never owned birds and I can tell you now that I have made him a bird lover. He adores Chloe and Petri (Rio is a mamas boy) and we are purposely not visiting a bird store in Sacramento because we know they have baby CAG's being handfed/for sale soon or now. Jeff LOVES Chloe ....I want a macaw, he will want a CAG ...its gonna be a WAR!!!!!!!!!!! OR....why not both?!?!

He was the first one brave enough to take her out of the cage first after her not being out of one for ~15 years. This is what happened. Total man lover. Chloe stole my boyfriend!!!!

My mom treats Darcy like a grandchild too! She always has him out when I'm not home, and she plays games and gives him kisses!

She just mounted 3 bird feeders outside the window of his room so he can see birds outside his window. :-D

My boyfriend initially didn't want me to get a parrot, but after I brought Puck home he fell in love!

@lintini. Thanks. Yes, pronounced pretty. I think i might be the only 'active, member here with a cherry bomb. Monica had a chc too. The seem to not be popular as companion birds. I can tell u that he can be pretty loud, but doesnt have screamng fits. Those days have been over for a very long time. Very independnt and string headed. I think chc's act like they r big birds.

There are a lot of CHC owners out there, I'm sure of it, just not as many as suns, jendays and green cheeks...


The conure I have now was given to me as a CHC, but he's a "my-turd".



And I wish my family, or anyone within my family was that doting! Actually, I take that back... I do have a cousin who is a bird trainer! But he lives around 8 hrs away and I've never met him!

Ive finally decided to send my bird to my mom's for my vacation. She ADORES my dog and treats her like a grand kid. I can only hope she will fall in love with my birdie just the same! Fingers are crossed!

That's too cute . My dad has a huge soft spot for my bird lol More than I thought he would. Bird absolutely loves my dad too lol, I lost my bird to my dad.

Pritti is a little charmer! My parents aren't parrot people at all!! But when i used to have them bird sit Georgie, they would try to spoil her by giving her things she wasn't supposed to have (mostly french fries and quite a few bagels with cream cheese from dunkin donuts shared with Georgie.....thankfully i didn't go away without her much!)
