After separating Opal and Jordan I attempted to try to tame Opal again, I ended up skipping the whole "getting use to hand in cage" thing and just held some millet. It was actually successful. I did the same thing I did when taming Jordan every couple bites I would move the millet until eventually in was lying in the palm of my hand (there was probably a better way to word that).
The only thing different between the tame methods I used for Jordan and the one I use for Opal is the fact I got Jordan use to my hand first before offering food, while I skipped that part entirely with Opal.
I tried many taming methods with Opal, but I thought it would take longer with her and I slowed down with taming, but I shouldn't have.
I always think outside the box, why didn't I see this solution sooner?
Anyway, here is a photo I took during the first day of taming. I'm on day 3 now, and seeing great progress. She no longer panics when I open her cage, or when I put my hand in, but she is still a bit wary when it comes to coming near my hand, but I don't expect her to completely accept my hand for several weeks.
Just thought I'd share my progress with her.
