It's a pleasure to meet you all on this great forum. Thanks to one of my classmates, apatrimo94, who seems popular here, for suggesting this site to me. We're really good friends. He just wanted me to let you guys know that he's been admitted to the hospital on Saturday. He tore in hamstring and opened up his upper thigh in a biking accident. Rest assured, he's fine and he'll be home tomorrow before school starts for us. He wanted to let you guys know he misses you and can't wait to get back on tomorrow.

I have my own fid whom I love to death. She's my Sun Conure, Flower. I bought her a few weeks ago and I'm a new bird owner, but I have apatrimo by my side. I just have one question though that he's unable to answer. Flower seems to have this white dander on her and she scratches a lot. Is this something I should be concerned about? I have a vets appointment on Friday, but I just want to see if I can help her itch a bit.

Thanks for the help I can get.
(P.S. My username might make me sound like a girl, but I'm really a guy, lol)

Shame!!!!! please tell Apa I say hi and hope he feels beta soon soon. Welcome, good luck with the vet on Friday :)

Thank you for letting us know. Even though most of us will never meet eachother we care.

Hi FP and welcome to the forum, you can help keep the dander down a bit by giving her frequent misting showers, using a standard spray bottle(get a new one, and lable it "Bird Use Only") use warm water and mist her thoroughly, if you have an outside cage or travel cage you can use this, place her outside in a sunny area to let her dry naturally, she will preen herself and that will help promote healthy feather growth and conditioning, when the temps start getting to cool to be outside you can see if she'll tolerate you using a blow dryer set on low to dry inside the house, hope that helps, if you see AP tell him we all said to get well soon :)

Showering the bird definitely helps with dander. I use a pressurized bottle, so I don't have to continually pump it.

So sorry to hear re bike wreck. Are you helping care for his critters? If so thanks and also welcome in your own right.

Hey, Mikey!!!! Thanks for sharing my story.

Looks like you got the answer you needed for Flower.
