Hello again guys, I just have a couple of quick questions when it comes to pulling GCC's from the nest. I've read that 2 weeks is the best time to do it, also is it safe to pull a couple of babies and leave the rest without mum and dad abandoning the nest? My two currently have 6 babies in the nest, the oldest will be two weeks old in 3 days, and I'm looking to keep the youngest in the nest until they're bigger. I have previous hand rearing experience so I'm set on that front, thank you.

Yes you can pull the oldest one first to start the hand feeding process and leave the siblings until they get old enough to be pulled. BUT during anytime if you see something isn't right, you need to pull the rest of them out.

Thank you very much for your help :)

Your welcome! Make sure the crop is completely empty and feed just plain warm water on the first feeding!!! That's very important!!!! You don't need to feed a lot of water, I would say around 2-3 cc's would do. Don't feed formula yet, wait another hour making sure the water have emptied out of the crop sac then proceeding to feed, and please do make sure the formula needs to be very diluted with water, meaning the mixture should be very watery! You do that to begin with and thicken the formula over time as they mature.

I have one more question for you, today I've brought in 2 babies, they've managed 2 feedings (the first was water as you said) but they keep crying out loudly whenever I leave the room, they've had their night feeding but still keep won't settle?
