OK so attempt two. Not my attempt The budgies insist.

Couldn't find the babies when I got home. Blue one was upstairs on the couch. Yellow one was hiding in plain site at their new favorite spot. GOOD SPOT it will help them grip and finish fixing their legs.

Oh I've already removed their box so no more babies there.

One baby left....Trying to see if she is ready to fly but not ready yet it seams.

So the birds are SUN conure AC (arther curry "aquaman") GCC Kent (superman alter ego) Clark junior (the dad also superman related looked like my first conure, He lives up to the name now.) also yellow, scuti/snowy (quaker) zebra and dot (budgies unrelated naming.) Now I have a blue one and two greenish yellowish ones to name. One maybe green lantern. maybe blue one superman but he needs to prove himself first. otherwise blue beetle I dunno. I'd like ideas now that they seem to be thriving and will get a name.

Where's the smallest baby living? Is he still being fed by Dad? They're such cute babies. Are they still okay being held?

Yeah last baby still in a box still being fed by the other mom zebra and he polygamous dad. I hope to be rid of the box soon. They have been letting me adjust them like they were at the top of the ring but the dad couldn't get above so I moved them inside the ring the the dad could feed. It's not we are BFFs forever but there is trust there. The youngest one actually has maybe a bff forever vibe, but I just want her to graduate and fly up to the yarn ring as well so I can remove her home.

Also I let the GCC out but it tried to bite so he's back in jail until things calm down. I thinks it's just jealousy IDK. I wish he'd just leave it. I was nowhere around them.

The sun conure is just zen and is fine with them..

The babies should be able to effectively avoid the GCC fairly soon, but until then he's gonna have to be a Jail Bird.
When fully flighted, budgies are pretty fast agile flyers. Is your GC an exceptional flyer? If so, you may want to slow him down a bit by trimming about one inch off the tips of his primary flight feathers so he can still fly but not as well as your baby budgies. Is Baby Blue's bloody nose okay? I wish I could say that Baby Blue learned his lesson to stay away from Kent but babies can be kinda dumb like this. Maybe he thought Kent would feed him, not try to make a meal out of him!
You should handle the littlest baby as much as you can so he keeps his tameness. Fledglings can lose their baby tameness pretty quickly unless you do.

Blue one was in the box when attacked. The boxes make him go nuts.

New baby still not ready pulled out and played but just put her back. Showed her to her nephews/step siblings.

I had to do it....

Kent normally when I let him out avoids the babies for a bit (Hour or two) until he just can't help himself.

Today it was like ten minutes.

So I put the room in blackout, captured him and gave him a block cut took an inch. He realizes jumping around the cage island he's at diminished capacity, he can still get some lift but I don't think he could make it to swing the babies are on now. Will have to see.

I love reading this post! SO EXCITING! Babies and conures and Superman, OH MY!

It really broke my heart to do it, but lives or extreme pain are at stake. But he's completely forgot about the babies after I ....well basically I assaulted him. Girl green cheeks are easier in my experience. They just think they are people and sit on your shoulder all day.

OH the baby is ok he just flew over there and lunged a bit and I shut it down before anything bad could happen.

I did nothing else to the GCC except the block cut. He's actually outside behaving himself now, where before my head was on a swivel with a water gun. I'd never hurt him. But I have to keep a barrier until he's used to the new budgies. The old budgies the parents he can sit right beside and do nothing except when they are interacting with the babies.

I think he might be happier being free now and able to preen with his brother which he did extensively after the cut. I haven't seen a long flight yet so not sure of his flying capabilities yet. If the babies can outfly he can stay out of the cage.

I think he figured out ....finally......I was serious.

WOW google images are bad or I just have the wrong name for it about half the images are right.

Here I did this I just nipped the ends off of the outer flight feathers. Both sides.

Caught em both playing with the toys......

Perfect job! That's exactly what I would have done. Just the tips cut off. I do that to slow them down. I usually put a towel over the bird's "front end" and leave the "rear end" exposed and just trim the tips off. Don't even need to hold the wings out to do it.
