Happy 51st Gotcha Day, Kabuki!

51 years together! How time flies! On September 9, 1974 a beautiful, gentle and loving blue and gold macaw came into my life and changed it forever. How did I get so lucky? I am truly blessed.

The best decision I have ever made was to share my life with this gorgeous bird with the most beautiful spirit. He has brought me 18,615 days of joy so far.

Here’s to the rest of our lives together, Kabuki!

Such a beautiful bird with a beautiful soul! Both of you are so lucky to have shared 51 years together, the highs, the lows, the screaming, the cuddling and the bond of love and devotion. I wish everyone who got a parrot was prepared for a lifetime with their new feathered friend.

Thank you! Kabuki rarely screams or squawks. Maybe that’s how we made it to 51 years together! He is forgiven for the rugs and carpets he has plucked and wood he has chomped over the years. His path of destruction has slowed over the past 20 years—or I have gotten better at heading it off at the pass!
