Well I have to say, Birdman you were right, again.
My boyfriend had to take a road trip, and after the kids went to bed, I was sitting on the couch studying. Harley was rather upset James left, but had settled down by this time. She crawled down as close as she could get to me and clear as a bell said "step up, come'mer" so I slowly got up and offered my hand and she nicely grabbed my fingers and pulled them in closer and stepped up. I held her for a while to make sure she was okay, no face flushing or any other signs of excitement. So I sat back down on the couch with her blanket.
We spent the next hour or more bonding, she played on my lap, let me preen and scritch. She rolled over on her back and played with my hands. She made her content raptor noises and told me hello, she purred at me.
It was amazing. All it took was the bf to leave for a while, and never once did she bite or lundge. Now I know it might not last when he gets back home, but hopefully we made a positive step forward.
