Sully-2 year old cinnamon and Bella-3 year old normal
breeding pair of gcc, Scooter & BeeBee-Sully and Bella's normal son's, Rosey- Bella and Sully's cinnamon daughter, Ella & Sunny-American budgies
So I finally got Sully and Bella on pellets but not Harrison's. Well I got free samples of Harrison's and I saw Bella eating them today so I thought it would be nice to get them on that since they are breeders I want them to be on the best. I thought that because Sully likes peppers it would be nice to get him the Harrison's pepper lifetime but it only comes in course. My question is do any of you feed your conures Harrison's course? Sully and Bella do like to eat with their feet so I thought they might like the bigger size. Also would it be safe to feed them the pepper pellets everyday or would that be too much pepper.
Thanks, Chris.

I know there are people on here who feed there birds Harrison's. What size do you use and do you know how big the course size is in mm?

I use the fine but tried a bag of the course and it is pretty big . The course measures about a 1/4 in. wide and 1/8 in. thick . Kinda looks like dog kibble .My tag and green cheek both prefer the fine

They recomend "smaller" pellet for small perrots and bigger for.....But of cause you can try bigger och mix ...

Thanks for the pic, that helps a lot. I will try the course because I already have the fine so I will see which they prefer.
Do you think feeding the pepper flavored one everyday would be bad for them, like pepper overload, or would it actually be good for them?

I think it would be fine to feed the pepper one everyday , I can't find any info stating that you shouldn't . In fact I might try that one on mine for change . They both love hot peppery stuff : )

heya, i feed mine both the fine pellets, Little likes the odd course pellet, but it's more of a treat/play thing than daily food. i had to buy a bag of course at one stage cause they were out of fine, and it was better than nothing! but i cleaned out our coffee bean grinder and blitsed the course ones up in there ;)

some people who have large macaws use a smaller pellet, they feel it isn't as wasteful~

I think the pellet size is like the pirate code, it's more of a suggestion than a rule. My GCC tends to prefer finer food than recommended for his size and my Cape prefers the Macaw-sized stuff. They are basically the same nutritionally, so it may make sense to try it out and see what works for you and your flock.

Both my pionus and eclectus love the course. :) Pepper (pionus) loves to hold his in his left foot and much away. Barkley (eclectus) eats over the bowl and when he gets full he has fun crunching it up to fine bits.
