Has your fid ever been outside? Be it on a harness, in the cage or otherwise? Just a curiosity question. My tiel Arya has only been outside while safely in his cage, although I bought him a harness to fly on outside. (Hopefully he'll be ready to use it when the weather's warm!)

Mine go outside in their tree in the front yard on virtually every nice day...

3 of my 5 are out and about trained. They go out on the town with me from time to time. Especially my Greenwing macaw and my red lored.

Mine are recalled, however, I can call them down from the tree.

I don't use harnesses. Mine are "stay put" trained.

That's awesome! Arya is recall trained, but I would worry myself to death if he were to be out without a harness. #tigermom, lol.

I've had my fid since July and I took him outside in his previous cage once (my son and I carried the cage and staggered under the weight LOL!). He was so terrified that I took him back inside after ten minutes. He really didn't enjoy it. I'd love for him to spend time outdoors (safe in his cage of course because he can't fly due to an old wing injury) but he is afraid enough of wild birds when he just sees them through his window, being right there, outside amoung the 'scarybirds' as he calls any bird that flies by, would be too scary and traumatic for him. Clearly, he lived a very shut-in life with his previous owners :(

His new cage is too big to move around so I'm not sure how or if I will try again some day.

When blue was clipped I often took her out side, she really enjoined it. While I sunbathed she'd even go up it the tree at the top of the garden, she loved it soooo much it was hard getting her down.
She's got her feathers back now so I've not dared take her out. She's not recalled or anything. It's my dream tho that I can take her out some day again without clipping. (She would rip me apart if I dared to harness her lol!!!)

I take our Amazon out everyday in nice weather, I take him out in his cage or a smaller travel cage.

He absolutely loves it, loves his showers outside too. Right now we're anxiously waiting for warmer weather. Too cold....

Every single day weather permitting. Although I'm looking outside at the frozen tundra that is my yard and it seems so far away. I take my conure on drives when it's cold and he sits on my shoulder. He loves it. In the summer all 3 go out for hours every day, and I take the conure for a bike ride or walk every day. Spring can't come soon enough! :(

every day that its nice enough mine go out on harnesses and also I move all the cages outside so they can anjoy it when i cant be right next to them. its a hassle but sooo worth it for them!!!!!

I'd love to. Unfortunately I'm living in an apartment again, and don't know for how long...
I don't always trust people in large apartment communities. Don't want anyone seeing my parrots at least on the property here.
Sometimes though, the Budgies go in their cage on the patio. No one even looks twice at budgies.
Hope to take birds in summer to the harbor or beach on a harness.
