He is here!!!!!!

Kisota Pippin is doing great! Cuzco sounds so much like Pippin. He is not to fond of scratches but will tolerate them some of the time. He loves being out and on my shoulder and does not really play with his toys. Does Cuzco have any favorites ? Just so I can get some ideas. So far he does not like baths but hopefully that will change. He eats his mash like a champ and I can totally relate the the caked beak thing :) however he has not touched his pellets and it has been a week his poo is really watery from only the soft foods. Any ideas? Pippin is super quiet and while he makes little noises consistently he has never screamed and the only time he got anywhere close to loud was the first night when I turned off the light. I love having him around once he fell asleep under my chin while I was reading. He is just the cutest thing ever! :D

I haven't seen Cuzco play with his toys too much. The one that he will go after is the plastic ball with a jingle bell in it. I put it on the ground and shake it around and he chases after it, attacking it and growling at it. Super cute. It's hard to tell whether he really LIKES the toy or really HATES it. But he will chase after it on his own.

He also has one of those pinata like toys in the corner of his cage (something like this). There's a woven grass mat in that corner just below the pinata. I attached the grass mat so it's a horizontal platform and he really likes to sit on it. When he's tired he snuggles up to the pinata and kind of tucks his head next to it. I've seen him nibble and preen on it a bit too. He has one of those kabobs with the soft wood but doesn't seem to have figured it out yet. I've also seen him bat at his foraging cup a tiny bit but he doesn't seem to have figured that one out either!

He's also nibbled a bit on another woven thing in his cage.

What pellets are you feeding Pippin? I got the Zupreem natural stuff because I was in a hurry, but I wasn't sure he would eat them. He didn't hesitate. He'll hop from bowl to bowl, eating mash and pellets and whatever he can get. Maybe try adding a few pellets to the mash? I've also heard soaking a few in some fruit juice can help convince them to try it, though you'll want to find something without added sugar.

Ahhh, I'm jealous at how quiet Pippin sounds! What a little sweetie! Cuzco puts up a few moments of squawky fussing every night when we cover him or turn out the light. It does seem like he's getting a little better. We just ignore him and in a few minutes he shuts up for good. It's like a kid going "I'm not tired yet, I don't want to go to bed... I'm not TIRED!!!!....zzzzz"

Still working on getting Cuzco to enjoy attention. He's GREAT and will let you pet him lots when he's on your shoulder, but I don't want him to only be happy on shoulders.

He also bites insanely hard if you accidentally get your fingers in the way when he's killing his jingle ball or when you do something he doesn't like (like putting the flight suit on... hope I can get him to tolerate that better.... :C)
