Cheeky, GCC (Clever, I know. :P)
Hi, everyone! :)
I am the happy campanion to a fairly young (and clutzy) GCC. He's been fairly easy to introduce new foods to, looking at them a little strangely before deciding to take a taste. :) So far, peppers, oranges, and mango are tied for favorite, I think.
Anyway, I have looked at these fora so often and for so many different things I decided to register. I look forward to chatting with and learning from you all. :)

Welcome! Cheeky sounds pretty cute, GCC are wonderful birds and I've never met one I didn't like :D

Make sure to also introduce leafy meaty greens when he is young as well. Swiss chard, dandelion leaves, kale, spinach, and such. As well as squash too :)

Good to know, thank you! Any squash in particular, or are they all good choices? And I have read that romaine lettuce is a good one.. Thoughts?

out of the lettuces Romain is the most nutritious and does have some benefits. I still have it on the list of crispy water. It's not bad to feed it at all, just make sure they are eating the other stuff as well.

I've offer calabaza, acorn, and zucchini often when it looks good at the store :) beta carotene is present in orange/red veggies and greatly benefit the birdies. So red and orange peppers, orange squash, and other orange veggies are really good.

Just remember, everything in moderation. Don't over feed any one thing and feed lots of variety.

Thank you for the suggestions. I introduced oranges first, so Cheeky was *very* excited to get his first taste of orange pepper.. Judging from his reaction, it wasn't what he was expecting.. XD
