Hi everyone! My name is Dominique. I am new (obviously) and am owned by two wonderful parrots:
Harley, a Blue and Gold Macaw. We are almost positive she is a female. She is a year and a half old and everyone loves her! She is a total sweetheart and although she is wearly of new people, she LOVES people and loves to be with you. She is a doll baby! Harley and I had a rocky start. I wanted a slightly smaller bird (SI eclectus) but, my dad had a B&G and fell in lvoe with Harley. Long story short, I hand fed her and weaned her. She was 'passed off' to my brother who, like most brothers are, was too imature to know how to take care of a bird. My mom was ready to sell her, as was everyone else. But then a little voice (I have no idea who's, but it came from my mouth) said "I will, let me. Don't sell her, let me take care of her". I did, and hae never regretted it, not one day. She is the sweetest, quietest, smallest blue and gold I have ever seen, and I adore her! She will let me do anything- roll her over on her back (her favorite game) and hold her like a baby. You name it, she lets me do it. She is so trusting of me, it is the kind of thing that makes you shed a tear
Echo is a little different. I was searching on craigslist and someone had a CAG for adoption. It said he wasn't fond of kids, but I emailed her anyways. Over the next week, I learned more of this 'grayburd' and ame to visit. We hit it off. After only a week, I was able to give him scritches and rub him- something the old owner couldn't do. I love him and I have fallen in love, again! I had been saving so hard for a female eclectus I have had my eyes on since November, and am still saving, but Echo was worth every penny!
Well, that's just about it!
