We have a Sennie. She came from a bit of a rough background and I would hesitate to offer it to you as "the norm" ... so I won't. But, she has come around nicely. Cuddly? With my hubby yes, beginning to with me. But again, that is her background, not as a species-wide type thing.
She barks commands at the Border Collies: Get Back! Sit down! Lie down! She whispers, "Hello" suggestively to my husband who she loves heart and soul tremendously. She tells me "C'mere! c'mere!"
A little funny story about Cecil ... when we first got her I was working insane hours and I felt horrible about leaving her alone for hour on end. I rented the video (the name escapes me) that was solely migratory birds (no human voices on it at all); I would run home and rewind it and start it over for her between clients, give her a kiss and was on my way back to work. After the third day, she bagan Quacking like a duck! It was then that I figured she was sick and tired of the video!
Her voice is "robotic"; she is very precious to us. She has just begun letting me pick her up at her back and twisting her over and I play tummy scritch games with her.
She's come a long way. And, is very much an integral part of our family.
