Wednesday morning i noticed my 7yo Conure favoring one foot, i found it strange because i rarely see her do that, even when she's sleeping, then she stopped doing it, and started doing again at night, same story yesterday, and same thing today, the toe on the left foot (which is the foot she keeps up during moments of the day) looks orangish, and looked a bit swollen compared to the other foot, but now it looks a bit better

these pics are from today:

I sent the pics to my vet, at first he said it looks normal, just different pigment, when i mentioned she's constantly favoring the other foot, he said to give Prednisolone, im thinking if i should give it already or wait to see if she gets better by her own (since steroids are dangerous) toughts on this? Anyone has seen or had similar problems?

Her behavior seems 100% normal other than randomly lifting the left foot

Short courses of steroids like prednisolone aren't harmful and ŵill help a lot with inflammation. It's long term steroid use that can cause problems.

Today the foot looks a lot better, i found the orange color to be really weird, i tought it might be necrosis but it would be darker right? I searched about it everywhere and couldnt find a case similar to mine, but in a post from march this year i found a comment from you saying one of your Budgie toes fell off?? How it happened? Did he get any meds?
Today my bird's feet look a lot better, even without getting the med yet

Necrosis would be blackish purple. I had a budgie who lost a toe that was bitten by another budgie. It turned blackish and fell off. He recovered quickly and is now just missing a toe.

I was getting set to take Tiki to the vet waiting for Monday to arrive but it fell off and Tiki acted perfectly fine. I called the vets office and they assured me he would be fine but to bring him in if there was any more redness, swelling, oozing or blackening. He recovered very quickly.
