Hello everyone,

Sorry if this post isn't in the right place. I'm new to this so please bear with me!!

I have a 10 month old gc named "Baby Bird"(it was originally Marvel, but he prefers babybird), and he's such a sweet diva...Today, when i came back from school, I noticed he had just bathed himself. When i let him out of his cage, I noticed something off.. Please see pics because I don't know how to explain! I have never seen this before, and I freaked out when I saw it!

I tried to call an emergency vet hospital but none of them were able to see conures. Anyways, my sweet baby bird is his normal self, and doesn't seem in pain.

I am currently dog sitting two pups, and Babybird has been a little anxious lately, but he does not pluck (that i've seen). The dogs are a safe distance from the bird as well. I'm not sure if that's relevant, but just thought i should mention that. He's also just started flying, again, not sure if that's relevant.

So i just want to know if any one has any idea why it's like this?

Thank you, and sorry for being all over the place. I'm just very anxious!

Welcome! I don’t seem to be able to open the attachment (not sure if it’s just me?). Hopefully someone can offer something more helpful.

Welcome and be welcomed. Same here, I cant open the pic up.

Can't see much but pic shows quite abit of missing feathers from the birds crop area

Can't see the photo very well because it's small but it looks like he started plucking his feathers or rubbed against something repeatedly and lost feathers. It's possible that it's been going on longer than you though because it is probably less noticable when he's dry. Try to think of any sudden changes or something that could effect the Birdie's emotional state or something new he could be rubbing against or if he may have mites, itchy skin or a skin infection.
