Einstein, a nippy, sassy lil cockatiel
Hello everyone! Sorry for posting so soon after my last post, but I need advice! I will most likely be getting a beautiful baby lutino cockatiel on Thursday, and I need to have a name prepared for either sex! (Who knows what it will turn out to be?) I have already picked out a male name, Basil, but I need a name for a little girl! Any suggestions for a lutino?:yellow1:

I quite like the Herb basis of Basil. So maybe a different herb could be a good name

I love choosing unique names for pets -- how many sun conures named 'sunny' are out there I don't want to know (boring!), so this is your time to really think long and hard about it. You could do a matching herb name like above (Rosemary?) or go with something that is personal to you - a favorite book, character in a movie, the places you've traveled, maybe you have a favorite flower (Lily, Ivy, Rose?) whatever you do just pick something that speaks to you. It is also okay to wait until you meet the bird and see her personality before naming her.

Picking the name is really tough choice, I have multiple names for a single pair, i will name them permanently after they are tamed, now they are Fry and Leela (hehe)

I personally think that Basil could work for either sex. I had a family friend who has a female corgi named Basil so I’m already voting for Basil ☺️

Just an idea, but maybe Hazel. It's an herb and rhymes with Basil.

But Sunny is the worst.

Name suggestions: Bernard, Dagget, Lockly, Mars, Sergeant, Major, Cree, Lovely, Cloverly, Tia, Tiger, Lucy

I also think Basil is a unisex name. Really cute and unique too!

Agreed! How many green birds (i.e. amazons and male eclectus and gcc's etc...) are named "Kiwi". Such a boring name and also kind of girly too IMO. If he hadn't come named, he would have a much more unique one!

Don't forget Polly, Or Tweety

Or how many Rios are out there? funny thing, my guy actually started out as Ryu (Japanese for Dragon, feels appropriate for a conure) but I was misheard by some people so it became Rio.

I was thinking of Bazzzzull, as in Basil Rathbone, the original Sherlock Holmes actor, so if you're looking for a rhyme (to facilitate, or at least not interrupt the learning of the name), then Razzle or Dazzle or even Razzle Dazzle would be a cute girlie name.

Thank you all for your great suggestions! It turns out that the lutino bird did not work out, so I adopted from someone who couldn't take care of him anymore! He already had a previous name, Einstein, which I decided to keep.

Thanks for the update.
Everybody really had fun in this thread!
And congratulations!
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd... pictures, pleeeeeeeeeeeease!
