Help me Polly is a boy

Now I got the DNA result, Polly is a boy and thats a big problem. All the time I am saing, good girl, clever girl, nice girl, stupid girl etc. How do I lear to say good boy.....?

My family is not sure what to name polly, we are thiking pollux or Manne, Manne is a famous clown. What do you think?

Or you could just change the name to Paulie! It'll take some time to get used to saying "good boy" instead of "good girl" or calling him a "he" instead of "she." I used to have a cockatiel named Benson whom we thought was a boy until she laid an egg! I decided to keep the name but the transition of saying "girl" and "she" instead of "boy" and "he" took a while. I would catch myself in saying "Good boy.... I mean girl!" Anyways, no need to worry. It will just take time. And don't be afraid to correct yourself!

Cute . My Romie has ALL the characteristics of a male (eye color, pubic bone spacing etc), DNA = female. Her name before coming to me was Romeo, now Romie. Just start using boy instead of girl and eventually he will catch on. At least he is a male and you will never have to worry about potentially life threatening egg laying issues.

I'm sorry to hear that. Rome likes to hide under covers at night when she sleeps. I was hoping for a male so that I could put a nest box in the sleep cage but now that we are female I don't want to encourage egg laying behavior.

I had that problem in the begining before mine were sexed so i look to saying "Good bird" and "Nice bird" and so on and that way i could teach them both at the same time without having to work on seperate issues for them learning good boy and good girl.

Yes he is macho lol. The name is now Ville, trying to lear that but it is not easy
