Hi everyone
I have a blue fronted amazon called Dino. He's been very sick today, he didn't eat anything all day and his voice is hoarse and can't breath properly. He had health problems since we bought him and we did poop and blood tests and xrays as well But the vet can't figure it out what's wrong. He's been up and and down since December when I've noticed he's not alright but probably he's been like this for a while. I'm no bird expert but I did feed him fresh food, pallets seeds everything, fresh water clean room and cage toys fresh air I bought uv lamp as well. He's ok 7-10 days then he looks really bad for 2 3 days.
The vet wants to start a chlamydia treatment even though the test was negative. I've asked another 2 vets to look at the xrays and blood tests and no one had any idea what's wrong with Dino. It seems the liver and the kidneys are larger then usual. He is just 9 month old...
If there's anyone who can help me with anything that would be much appreciated .

I think you might ask about aspergillosis......

So sorry he is sick

That test was also negative ... and I'm going away for three weeks and leave Dino at a pet shop....I hope I'll still find him alive when I get back. It is so frustrating, both me and my partner we do take very good care of him and to see him in this is state it's just heart breaking...

Hi Valentin,

I'm sorry that your baby is sick. I hope you find the answers real soon.

Quick question? What is this, I circled in the x-ray?

This must be very stressful. So frustrating that the vet can't find cause. Never hurts to get second opinion, if you have a vet school within four hours drive I would go there for a second opinion. Second opinions have helped me a d others before.

I've had another 2 vets looking at all the tests and nothing....

I'm so very sorry. So very sorry. It sounds like you tried do hard to help him. The only thing is it's better you were with him than away on your trip. My deepest sympathies to you..

Oh dear oh dear this is very sad, I’m so very sorry for your loss, poor Dino. Still I think it’s best you were able to be there for him and he was in his home where he knew he was loved. Godspeed Dino ...

I am sorry that you have to go through this...

Your baby was sick and no vet was knowing the caused?????

THAT IS REALLY SAD... **SOB**

I'm so sorry, my deepest condolences for your loss of Dino. Losing a young bird can be especially difficult.

It may be possible to do a necropsy (bird autopsy) if you wish closure.
