I got 2 lovebirds one is 4 months old one is 4 weeks old i keep them separated as i am hand feeding the baby. I tried for putting them together in large cage but bigger bird acts like he is picking the peach fuzz off the little one. The little one climbs to top is very brave. But I was worried about the picking so I separated them again just to be sure. the older one acted like a momma bird. Any suggestions?:)

Sounds like normal preening behavior ... especially since they are so young I bet they have a lot of 'pin feathers' that are still poking through their skin ... preening really helps break up those pin feathers ... make sure that bigger bird isn't ripping feathers out (look for tiny, tiny drops of blood) of the little one, but I bet it's just a mutual preening thing ...

I have two lovebirds, one yellow one green, i have had them for 6 months from a pet shop, so i can only guess that they are relatively young. lovebirds are very territorial and aggressive. Before you start bringing more birds into the world, you need to start feeding them a proper diet, and supplement with high-quality calcium supplement.
