Just wanted to say hello.
I currently live with my Mom & her Tucaman, Tuki.
(as well as, her 2 cats & my 2 mini-dachshunds)
He's the most obnoxious bird I've ever met! LOL!
Seriously, we've tried everything including professional trainers.
My Mom is the most patient & loving person in the world with her pets
but nothing has worked with this bird.
In researching & talking with the only breeder we could find ,
we've learned that Tucamans don't make good pets.
He's a great talker when he wants to be with a large vocabulary.
He just hates everything & will bite you at any time.
I wouldn't recommend getting one.
About a year ago we lost my Mom's Maroon Bellied Conure, Miss B. She was absolutely the sweetest bird I've ever encountered. She was involved in all the goings on in the house. She'd sit on your should until she fell asleep holding your ear with her beak <3. She said a few words but always made herself known with the beak beating & chirp.
Soon after her loss, we lost my Parrotlet, Tia. It took several years for her to mellow and enjoy being out of her cage with me but we got there. She developed quite a personality. Tenacious & feisty but what a joy.
We miss them both every day.
Not sure when I'll get another Parrotlet but I know I will.
I look forward to sharing in everyone's experiences with their birdies.

Lisa
