My name is Courtney. I've worked at a pet store for the last year as an animal tech. About 7 months ago I walked into work and met the new cockatoo. Her name is Gracie and she was almost 4 years old. When I first walked in her cage she was fearful and unsure of me. I knew she just wanted some to love her. So i worked with her everyday so everyone would see the good in her. First she started letting me hold in her cage and then outside. Soon she was letting walk her around the store while working. The bond that we made was strong. After 7 months, the store started to make plans to send her to another store. The news broke my heart, I couldn't say goodbye to her. After a few weeks of research and tears... I knew she was my bird. I brought her home last week.
Cannot wait to learn more from other parrot guardians.
