Hi all

Congratulations on bringing Dizzy the BFA into your life! Hope he gets a good report from the vet.

I like the photo of him sitting on top of his new cage (a big improvement over the old one!). I can imagine him thinking "Wow! Is this really for me?
" :)

I'm sure that little Dizzy will be quite happy, remember that even though he seems quiet right now and relatively tame, he will go through a lot of change in the next days, weeks, and months. Make sure to not push him to interact until he is ready. I am so glad that you are able to provide him with a wonderful home.

It is a slow process, he's quite at home having his tummy stroked most of the time. He has had a good taste of my fingers (gently). Not as keen to get onmy hand but I try now and again and figure he will when he is ready.

We have discovered he loves dried bananas, doesn't mind the cat being in the lounge but when he sees the cat outside he freaks out and squawks a lot which is the opposite of what I expected.

Going to get him some more toys in the post to us tomorrow. He also let's most of the family stroke him which is nice.

Really isn't bothered by the 2 dogs or the kitten we have for that matter.

Glad all seems to be going well, just don't rush.

Did you use scarlett for toys? :)

Looking forward to more updates, I'm sure Dizzy is gonna have a great time with you all now!

I have used Scarlett yes, they sorted out a small pack of toys for us...just hope dizzy actually plays with them..lol

They are brilliant, I'm sure you (and Dizzy :p) wont be disappointed. They have just the best customer service ever. I'm always super impressed when I get things through from them. :)

Oh and considering his cage etc, you might have to teach him how to play. Pull beads of toys up and down being all excited etc. Not sure if he's had the chance to play before so it might be very alien to him, so take it slow :)

Hey Sizer, i responded to your post in the social section "Bonding with your amazon" Maybe some of the others will throw their 2 cents worth in and we'll get that group going again. I feel like we helped some other newbies and maybe we can help you.

Please to say dizzy seems to be settling nicely, we got him Thursday night so left him to settle...

Friday : taking treats from my hand (dried banana, seems to love them)
Saturday : still taking treats and letting me stroke his tummy for a few seconds.
Sunday : letting me stroke tummy a lot more and a foot on my hand a few times.
Monday : flew to my arm several times to get his banana treat. He lands, takes the treat then goes back to his cage.

Sounds look it's all going to go well! :)
