Hi maria, welcome to the Forums, but I'm sorry it's under these worrying circumstances.

Was the broken nail treatment and prescribing of antibiotics carried out by a certified avian vet? Unfortunately I am not familiar with Ekkies, but refusal to eat is always a concern. Just in case your vet is not avian certified, I've linked up a resource that may help you to find a specialist in your area...

Thanks for reaching out, and I am sending all my very best wishes to your and your beautiful boy's health and hope that he will be ok!

Welcome and be welcomed. Good advice above. Failure to eat is critical in parrots, who weigh almost nothing to begin with. If your sure he is not eating his normal food, you can offer some Parrot Baby Formula to him, follow the directions on the can to administer it to him. Always a good idea to offer baby formula once in awhile, in cases like this or when you need to get meds into the parrot and he is refusing to take them orally

A record of weight is very important so you can know for sure if he is not eating or loosing weight. A inexpensive kitchen scale that weighs out in grams and a small perch that fits on the scale are invaluable for doing this. I weigh my little amazon weekly and maintain a record of his weight. A loss of 5% or more should trigger a visit to the vet to determine the cause.

If the toe continues to bleed a little bit, dipping it into corn starch should stop it from bleeding. If it continues though you need to revisit the vet Harsher products like a Styptic pen, or similar shouldn't be used - they are pretty harsh for use on birds.
