Hi! My name is Karen, and I checked with a couple moderators if this would be okay to post, and they said okay!
I and my husband run a website called PetoftheDay.com - hence my username here. We feature a new pet photo and story about why that pet is special every day, and have been doing so since September 1, 1997. Any and all pets are welcome - a year later we gave dog and cat out into their own sites, which are all linked.
I wanted to encourage everyone here to nominate their parrots for Pet of the Day! There are so many kinds and they are such beautiful creatures, and the more people can learn about them, the better, right?
To nominate your bird - or any other pet - see Tell the world about your pet! - or PM me here!
I do not have a parrot, I just dote on the wild birds in my yard, which range from the little juncos who advised me to take the weather forecast seriously Sunday to cardinals and even wild turkeys on the large end. Some day, when I am ready, I hope to own a parrot, but I know it's not a wise impulse buy, no matter how lovely they are.
My most recent pet was Miss Hoppy, my rabbit who is now at the Rainbow Bridge, she would be my avatar here, but loud birds always scared her.
