House Space

A Huge point has been missed! City life has a base back-ground level that country living does not!! What one receives as sound reduction in the city is far less than the distance required in the country. In the Summer the background din is much higher that in the Winter. Point is, I can hear the sound of an individual closing the car door a full mile away in the Winter. In the Summer maybe a 100 feet away.

If the land between you and your neighbor is open farm land is vastly different than the same land with thick Pine Forest.

Just remember that whether your home is 25 feet from your nearest neighbor or 3/4 to 1 mile apart. If your neighbor's love your Parrot(s) or not makes far more difference that distance.

When we first came into our new home, we went on a tour of our neighborhood and the distance was based on line-of-sight. Everyone meet our DYHA and told about his love of letting everyone know when the Sun first Rises. Number of complaints after 11 years: One! And, that was from a neighbor that didn't hear Julio's announcement that the Canada Geese where move through the area.

Trees and terrain are things to consider. If land is flat sound will carry further. I mean a LOT further. Imagine how far you think the sound will travel. Then add another 30% minimum. Fencing can be a buffer. But I've noticed high pitched as in screeching and low pitched as in bass ignore them.
