Houston visitor. What is he?

Thanks for the add. I am not an owner but saw this visitor on our fence yesterday. Not the indigenous Monk parakeet. Can you tell me what he is and if he could be indigenous or more likely an escaped pet. Thanks!

Native to Africa.
Would you like to try to catch it? I would bet its chances are poor as far as surviving in the "wild"...
 
Yes that is a lovely little peach faced lovebird. Where are you located? Some places, like Arizona, have large feral populations of these guys.

Welcome to the forums, thanks for posting a beautiful pic! We have many members in Texas, and a few in the Houston area or nearby. Perhaps someone can enlighten us all!
 
By the way... monks are indigenous to South America. They have been spectacularly successful at colonizing the US!
 
Monks are actually illegal to import into Colorado due to being able to colonize
