How can i get my onw year old cockatiels to sing more?

Hi, i have had Lucy and leo for awhile now and they never really wisel or sing. how can i in-courage them to do all thoose things?

Sing and whistle to them every chance you get The best way though is to bring them around other birds who whistle and sing.

Yes, as Mara said whistle and sing to them. However, if they are female they may not do it. Males whistle and sing more often in Cockatiels than females do. Females tend to be pretty quiet.

Make sure they are happy and have lots of things in their cage to keep them busy. Do you know if they are male or female? With cockatiels you can tell by looking, which is a handy thing! What Mozzie said is correct, females are less likely to vocalize.

I do find talking to my birds encourages them to vocalize. But Blanco started singing spontaneously a couple months after we got him.
