I want to teach my bird to stay on his play stand...How do I go about doing this???

With mine, I just keep putting her back on there every time she leaves. And I try to keep the toys a little more new and interesting than what's in her cage.

Good tip. Thanksss

I give River treats in the dish on his stand.

But would they stay when there aren't any treats??

Welll.... River does tend to want to go exploring, he goes from the play perch, to his cage, back to the pech, onto the curtain rod, down to the chair, back to me at my computer.... he's a busy boy

Lol im scared of my cats and they cant get on his cage top play stand so i hope he can stay there.

I also have the same problem... Apple LOVES to jump off of his stand and explore the living room floor. He won't even come to me, will just walk around the whole living room chewing on things. Lol! I need to get him new toys, or make him new ones. When he jumps off most of the time I pick him up and bring him with me, I know it's the wrong thing to do since it's rewarding the behavior but when he's done with his exploring he'll look at me with those cute little eyes and I can't help to bring him with me. :)

Good advice given, definately just put him back whever he does it, not like me. Lol!

Hahaha im thinking a destroy toy would keep him there!!!

I hung a bell for Tori to play with above his play gym. He is absolutely in love with bells, so he stays there for quite a while. Do you know what your bird's favorite toy is? Maybe if you put one there along with something that would keep them entertained like a shreding toy with treats hidden inside he'd stay for a bit.
