How to make your home smell good safely

I think you should use vinegar to make your room smelly. It is easily available in your near by market and it is no more expensive.

Beeswax and plain are usually ok. 100% cotton wick.

It's when you get scented ones and some essential oil ones you get the problem. Along with some manufactured ones that have lead in them.

It goes without saying that as with us, the room should still be well ventilated and birdy safely in his or her cage.

I personally don't light candles "just in case". I can even make my own. Problem is, I have so many animals it'd only take a swish of a tail lol.

Lol yeah my mom knows I don't like to burn candles because they don't look as pretty so she told me if I found out how to make a bird safe scented candle she will make some with extra scent so it wouldn't wear off as quickly.

hi i have a friend who had a parrot who died from tefal poisioning the parrot spent alot of time in the kitchen on the top cuboards when she was cooking a very sad time for us and her breeder who paid to find out what cause skittle to die {worried about her other parrots}so just be careful we dont use any chemicals in the house that go into the air

So...We're all agree that cotton wicks and beeswax sounds safe? And we know citrus is safe, as well as a few essential oils. I would think homemade carefully concocted candles would be safe so long as one is aware of the ingredients they use and their individual side effects. Its still a scary thought though :/

Agreed - I use it to clean my floors, but dang, it's not a smell I'd want to waft into my nose when I come home every night :)
