So last Friday I got a new conure from a client of mine because she couldn't keep him because her Nanday mix is a hater.
He came to me with missing feathers around one eye, he came home and went straight to quarantine and gone to the vet already, did a cytology, there wasnt mites but there was bacteria, yada yada. Vet sent us home with antibiotics for an eye infection and continue quarantine for 60 days.
Here's the thing the woman I got him from didn't even know he was sick, she isn't oblivious and she noticed it and I assume she said something to the breeder (because every vet I've gone to if I tell them there is hair/feather loss they tell me to bring the animal in) and (presumably) the breeder said hypo reds have eye issues and it's genetic. Is this true or just a very unethical breeder?
