Yoshi - Green Quaker
He's the cutest thing!! I'm going to have lots of questions!

Here he is when I first got him home.

What YOU lookin' at?

Us

He's missing his tail feathers. The person who bought him from the breeder brought him back and said that the granddaughter kept getting him out of the cage and pulled his feathers out. :(
He kind of looks like a big fat green parrotlet. Haha.
Despite of it all, he's very sweet. I thought he'd like to spend some time in his new cage after the long drive and new home stress but he won't let me put him down.

Congrats!!! He's adorable!!! Ask any questions you have, I used to have one myself. :)

Aww, Leah, he is precious! So happy for you:) Have you thought of any names yet?

I'm thinking either Yoshi or Kermit. I'm sure those are probably really popular green Quaker names but I don't care, they are cute! :)

I just can't believe how nice he is! We've been cuddling since we got home.

He's tame! Lucky you! Congratulations on your new family member!

Cute! I have always wanted one, a little jealous =p

I can't believe we've only had him a couple hours! My 3 year old says "step up" and he does!

Love both of those names! I am so happy for you and your new little quaker, as well as for your brother and the tiels! I think it's perfect how everything worked out!

I know! I feel like everything was sort of meant to be. If I would have found the quaker first, my brother never would have gotten the tiels.....if my brother wouldn't have asked for the tiels when he did, I wouldn't have gotten the quaker.

Plus the quaker was "born" (hatched) on 10/10 which just happens to be my birthday! :)
I'm exactly 30 years older than him! Lol.

What a coincidence! Definitely meant to be:)

He's so sweet.I have a three yr. old blue Quaker named Bella . Start talking to him right away because Quakers learn very fast and can talk as well as an African Grey.I had a green Quaker years ago and she was a wonderful pet.All the best with your new Quaker.

Congratulations on becoming a Quaker parront-- and a big welcome to your new friend! :)

I know of several Quakers named Yoshi, but don't remember meeting one named Kermit.

awwww I adore quakers , he is soooooooooo cute

Those were the cutest pics!:D I love the name Kermit, good luck with your new family member.

Well, I really liked the name Kermit but my husband and kids (all Mario fans) have overruled me. So his name is Yoshi. :)

The only small problem we have so far is that he's way too clipped. :( Poor thing falls like a rock. He fell twice in the cage and scared me. He needs more perches to climb on but I don't have any pet stores local and the out of town pet store I stopped at on the way to get him was TERRIBLE. They seriously did not have one perch. I was so disappointed.

Anyway, we are going to another town this Saturday that has more pets stores so I'll get some then.

Congratulations on your quaker, Leah! Beautiful bird and sounds like a sweetheart. I'm glad everything ended up working out for you. Keep us updated on Yoshi (that would've been my pick, too! He looks more like a Yoshi than a Kermit to me!) as well as your brother's cockatiels.

Awww congrats!! :D he is soooo cute!
