So after much deliberation, hours of research and falling for a baby yellow shoulder Amazon, I bit the bullet and got one. He or she will be called Mango.

Very cute, is he an only child? Love those dark baby eyes.

Congrats! He is adorable!

He is my only bird but he will have a dog and a cat as part of his family. I think he will be very happy as he will have a whole extended family that will love him.

Very nice! He looks like he's waiting patiently for the time to come when he gets to go home with you!

I don't think I'm going to get him sexed, I read that the majority of these particular Amazons hatched are males. He just has that mischievous little boy look in his eye. Watch ten years from now he lays an egg

Many congrats...and GREAT choice!!!! :D

You will have lots of fun with Mango, NO doubt in my mind.

It's actually very useful to sex a bird, quite inexpensive and not hard at all because all you have to do is request the kit from one of the online labs, bring the little vial they send with you when you take your bird to his first AV check-up (and this should be done almost immediately after you bring it home) and ask the technician or the vet taken the blood sample to just take a bit more and put it in the vial for you.

Please make sure you have different types of soft foods for when it comes home as well as feeding syringes or pipettes and a scale. They tend to regress when they are moved and you need to be prepared for it.

I would do the DNA Sexing if i were you.. We've bee told that Kiwi our OWA was a Male and i had doubts so i did the DNA and i was right.. Female !
