Hi everyone,

I moved in recently to a new apartment and I noticed these red bumps on my feet, my friends told me it was probably fleas.

I'm going to go down to the leasing office today and ask them what should be done. I know its not bedbugs because I'm only getting bites on my feet and I had no problems before.

What should I do when they are clearing the infestation? Obviously take the birds out, but I have a huge cage for them and I dont want to disassemble it if all possible.

Thanks :)

Tough call..no chemicals for sure...If you have to get the place treated, you need to remove the bird to a safe space for a few days and ask lots of questions about what they are using and whether it will be safer afterwards....If you use DE, food-grade is a must---the dust can also harm you and your bird, SO, a HIGH QUALITY hepa-filter vacuum is important....do not inhale...

I just remembered, (and this may not solve the problem), but if you put Dawn soap and some water into a bowl under a night-light, fleas will jump in and drown. It has to do with the light and the consistency of the liquid. The key is, ensuring that your bird has 0% ACCESS to said bowl.

****no candles, insecticides or flea baths, as you have a bird!!!****
