Lol, it wasn't just the creepy Norman Bates voice (motherrrr! ), or the reaction, which was over the top, but the unconscious decision to excite and entertain one bird at arms length, while ignoring the bird on shoulder within bite length. Come on, we all know how excitable and jealous parrots can be. The other bird felt left out whole she was aping for the camera. Lesson learned and no real harm done.

Sally is my jealous bird.

If I am paying attention to Lila, my little lilac crowned amazon, it's just a given, there will be steam coming out of her ears. GUARANTEED!

SO HERE'S THE DEAL. IF I'M HANDLING LILA, I AM NOT HANDLING SALLY AT THE SAME TIME!!!

Ever. Period.

I handle BOTH my macaws at once, but Sweepea also gets jealous. So, you don't focus on just one bird. You go back and forth. They both get loved on, and I don't get pinched. And no arguments between birds are provoked with my face in the way.

If you aren't going to use common sense, then only handle one at a time.

And even then, yeah, getting a cockatoo all wound up on your arm, excited to the point of overload... "I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. ONE MINUTE WE WERE PLAYING, AND THE NEXT MINUTE, THE BIRD JUST WENT CRAZY AND ATTACKED ME!"

I hear people say that stuff about zons and toos all the time... and it's just a clear lack of understanding of how what they were doing provokes a bite.

Remember the video of the guy who thought his amazon liked violin music?! And the entire time, the zon was doing the "line of death" dance?

Glad I'm not the only one who felt that way! I saw the video awhile back and while she's just creepy...it was her reaction that made me instantly feel awful for those Goffins. You can find a video she posted of her larger too "playing" with a nut shell - in reality the shell is stuck on the bird's beak and instead of helping the bird who is obviously distressed her reaction seems to be "let's put it on the internet!" I don't know how you become considered a "parrot person" with videos like those...

OK, I admit that I do not watch many U-tube videos and those I do are more nerd based product stuff, tech stuff, etc... So, most are well done, near professional in their presentation, framing and the like.

I agree with everyone that the end results are foreseen long before the bit.

What doesn't make sense to me, once again, likely due to my lack of U-tube experience; Why would anyone put this up for viewing? It so clearly states: Hi, I'm really stupid and I'm going to prove it by posting this video of me acting stupid, sounding stupid and getting what I deserved. Do people get paid for posting videos of themselves doing stupid stuff?

By the way, I guess owning an expensive camera and tripod (set-up behind her) meant it did not required brains, only a credit card to obtain it.

Feel very sorry for the parrots! Once again, meant it did not require brains, only a credit card to obtain them.

And yet, there are submissions like this, by the thousands, on the daily.
