Tonight, Buddy is on my shoulder visiting, getting scritches, playing our mimic game, preening, he's nothing but sweetness. But then he lost his balance and started sliding off towards my back. I turned my head and in seconds, Buddy had latched on to the top of my ear, hanging on by my ear, his little feet swinging. He didn't bite down, was gentle and I was able to get my hand under his feet to resettle him on my shoulder. Husband was cracking up because of Buddy's little feet kicking, he was no help. In hind sight yes it's comical, he was resourceful, lol.

Lmbo! I'm sorry, but I wouldn't have been able to help any more than your husband did. I'm glad you were able to loan Buddy your ear and save him from a fall.

This so cracked me up! Thank goodness he was gentle:)

We are still laughing about it here. Buddy looks and acts like nothing happened, he's back to preening, lol.

Hahaha......oh the ear swing thingy....yep, they realize down the line it's not a chew toy...

Just wait till they think there's a small animal up your nose and pull out a nose hair....That'll bring a tear to your eye.....Literally. Ouch!!!!

My red fronted macaw uses my ears to steady herself. Every once in awhile I'll end up with a tiny pinhole on the back of my ear from the point of her beak.

Hahah!
I guess I'm lucky Kiwiberry can't reach my ear when sliding down my back :p

Too funny! Zilla uses my ears to steady herself, always very gently, but it gives new meaning to the term "head handles" LOL

Bacca will certainly reach out with her beak if she's lost her footing, she hasn't grabbed my ear yet.

The funniest was the time she slipped off one of the perches (that's suction cupped to the window where the outside birds have their feeder). She's still got a grip on it but she's hanging by her feet and has no clue how to right her self. She grabbed at me with her beak to get away.
