Albie - Pineapple Green Cheek Conure - Hatch date 14 Dec 2019 - Gotcha date - 4 March 2020
Albie has just met his 3rd person outside of his flock.

My grandma came over this afternoon to drop a lamp off and she came in to meet albie.

He was nervous /wary of her to begin with so we just ignored him and chatted, after about 20 minutes he came over to investigate the new person and he warmed up to her. My grandma fed him some sun flower seed and he just did amazing! He gave a nip when searching for seed, but he sat happily on her knee munching seed and nutri berries. He even started talking and chirping and trilling.

I'm so proud of him!!!! We gave him lots of praise for being such a nice social boy.

We didn't force any interactions which I think was the biggest reason why he was so good, because he did it on his terms and not because I forced him.

He's such an amazing bird, he really is. I just hope he continues being a good social bird.

To non bird people, it doesn't seem like a big deal, but it really is, especially as he's now 18 months old and we haven't been able to socialise him.

I'm sure Albie is proud himself too!!! It is so important yo socialise your birds, I always let my guests offer some yummies to Pascal, they always get thrilled when the bird accepts some millet, and Pascal sure gets excited for getting that millet :D

Just keep up, Albie!!!

Albie is getting to be one of my favorite conures.

I know it's important to socialise him, but unfortunately we've been unable to due to the constant lockdown. Today was the first time I was able to see my grandma in over a year!

He will do anything for his sunflower seed hahah

Way to go Albie!! Good idea letting him sit back and observe, make his own decision to approach. That he was pleasantly rewarded bodes well for future introductions.

I really hope so!

I'm sure you'll have many new opportunities as the world opens up!
