Indian Ringneck attacks his paw

Hello. Three months ago we bought a six months old IRN. Basically from the first days he will ocasinally clench his paw and attack it with his beak like he is angry at it, eyes are pinching, angry sounds... not actually biting.
Is this something to be concerned about? Google didn't provide anything on this matter.

And another, minor thing. Less often he just sits and caresses his neck and face with his paw, like he is falling asleep. This I am just curious about

Everyone here except the tiels do the head massage thing. I haven't seen anyone attack their foot though.

I've never seen a parrot with a paw, but there are a few reasons for a parrot to chew at his foot. The first that comes to mind is misplaced aggression, if he is angry at something or someone, he may be attacking his foot out of frustration. Have you closely examined his foot, there may be a physical reason it's bothering him, if birds feel pain on the inside they often chew on the outside. Does your IRN stand in the same spot on the same perch for long periods of time? Perches in a variety of sizes and textures help keep birdie feet healthy.

... there are a few reasons for a parrot to chew at his foot. The first that comes to mind is misplaced aggression, if he is angry at something or someone, he may be attacking his foot out of frustration.

In general his foot is the only thing that makes him angry... The only other instance is when I give him a treat a bit suddenly. So this doesn't seems to be the problem, I think.

His feet appear fine to me, and he does this with both of them.
He did chew/clean his feet over first month when he wanted to fly really bad (he is clipped), but that almost doesn't happen anymore.

I'm pretty sure there wasn't, seller was just some dude, nothing official.

I think I will treat this as a quirk of his until I find new information.

I am not sure about IRN's but Macaws will often act like that, chewing at there "Paw" It is from what I have seen done out of excitement. Usually when you approach the cage and they want your attention.

Also, it is not really chewing but more beaking. Kinda reminds me of a greaser in a 50's movie biting his knuckle when he see's a cute girl.

My baby ringneck that I'm currently handraising does this... maybe its a baby thing? Ive never seen older ringnecks do it
