Why would you feel it would be a nightmare? I think it may be a handy way of contacting another member while you are in the forum to discuss "current" issues or topics. Just a thought.

In a perfect world I would agree.
I suspect if you took the messages and complaints the moderators deal with from week to week and transferred that into real time tantrums being vented without the luxury of a couple of cool down hours, I would foresee problems.
I could be way wrong.
I am not trying to poo poo the idea, Its just one incredibly smart guys opinion.
As I have said, I am in favour of instant messaging and anyone can message me on MSN.

I think a lot of great conversations may be lost in "real time" and never actually make it to the forums. Some of "Parrot Forums" really great threads that have gone for weeks with 20 or 30 people contributing may not have happened if the initial 2 people had met up in real time and had an IM.

I could be wrong, I was once before in 1984, March I think it was.

I agree Sarah it has been slow and miss everyone to. I have MSN not on it that much, and facebook.
