Hey Everyone,

So my middle son was just diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma back at the end of February. One of Wyatt's dream is to have an African Grey. And while I knew someday we would do it, I didn't really anticipate it being anytime soon. However, this little beauty popped up and Wyatt fell in love with her in an instant, and he has a lot time right now and definitely needs this positive thing right now. He's So excited about his new best friend. (Of course, I'm the main caretaker of the birds, so I'm excited too!) So with that, I just wanted to share our new addition with you all! This is Baby Girl. She is 5 years old and was in need of a new home due to her person became too old and unhealthy to care for her anymore. She is a sweetheart! Although, she definitely is in need of some love and attention... And a bath. Her feathers look awful, and her nails a dangerously long and sharp. So she will be seeing the vet at the end of this week. You guys are my Go-To for all questions and research, and I'm sure I'll be back with questions, but for now... :) :grey:

She is beautiful! Congratulations on your awesome new family member. Prayers to your son and your family.

Oh she's gorgeous! ♡ Congrats on your new feathered friend~ I can't wait to hear about all of the happy memories you will make with her. :D

She's beautiful! I'm sure your son is over the moon. I'm sorry to hear what he's battling right now, but every little positive is helpful to his spirit. This little girl may be just what he needs to focus on something else. I know my birds have helped my mood a great deal with my health issues (spinal cord injury) and they distract me from my pain. Even twenty minutes focusing on something else gives my brain a rest from thinking about the pain.

There is never a better time than now to make his dreams come true. I bet he is so happy!

Yay! She is so pretty! Happy for you all!

What a genuinely sweet looking bird! I hope she is able to provide some comfort and distraction for your son while he goes through this illness.

She's a beauty!! Please keep us posted on how things are going.

I wish Wyatt the very best as he confronts a challenging period. Animals can have a tremendously helpful and therapeutic effect on illness. Baby Girl is stunning and should form a wonderful bond with your son.
